# Does Tech E&O Cover Cybersecurity?

Some Tech E&O products include security liability; cyber policies may cover incident response and first-party losses under separate terms.

A security-service error, a customer’s privacy lawsuit, and your own breach-response costs are different exposures. The Hartford lists security liability for its FailSafe product; NAIC describes potential incident-response and interruption cover under cyber policies.

Check scheduled security services, breach triggers, notification costs, ransomware, vendor incidents, waiting periods, minimum controls, and which policy responds first. Ask whether failure to prevent an incident is covered.
