# Does Professional Liability Cover Subcontractors?

Possibly, if the policy covers your company’s liability for subcontracted professional work; the subcontractor is not automatically insured.

A claim may allege your company negligently selected, supervised, or integrated a subcontractor’s work. Your E&O may cover your own liability if it fits the service grant, but does not automatically insure the subcontractor.

Check insured-person definitions, contractor exclusions, work-on-your-behalf terms, and indemnity obligations. Review the subcontractor’s own policy and any required endorsement; a certificate does not amend coverage.
