# Does Inland Marine Cover Materials?

Materials coverage depends on the type of property and stage; storage, transit, and installation may require different forms.

Building materials, contractor supplies, inventory, and customer-owned materials may require different coverage. Inland-marine forms such as cargo, transit, and installation floaters cover distinct property and stages; a tool floater may not cover building materials.

Tell the broker who owns the materials and whether they are stored, shipped, held at a jobsite, or awaiting installation. Verify coverage through transit, temporary storage, and installation, including when protection ends.
