# Does General Liability Cover Vendors?

Only if the vendor is named or added as an insured under the policy; the vendor’s own liability needs its own coverage.

Your CGL does not automatically insure every vendor. An additional-insured endorsement may give a vendor limited protection for liability connected to your operations, but only for the entities and activities it names.

Compare the contract requirements with the actual endorsement. Check whether it covers ongoing work, completed operations, and shared limits; a certificate alone does not change the policy.
