The form has exceptions, including an employee using an auto owned by that employee or a household member. This example shows why “employees are covered” is too broad without identifying which vehicle they drive.

Coverage for injury to an employee is a separate issue. The same form has workers’ compensation and employee injury exclusions in its auto liability section, with limited exceptions. Workers’ compensation and employer’s liability are not substitutes for auto liability coverage to third parties.

Check the actual quote’s covered-auto symbols, named insured, permissive-user language, employee-owned vehicle provisions, and exclusions. For staff using personal cars, ask about hired and non-owned auto liability and confirm how the employee’s personal policy fits.
