In the specimen ISO form, coverage ceases at the first of several events: policy expiration or cancellation, purchaser acceptance, loss of the insured’s interest, abandonment, or specified periods after completion or occupancy unless changed in writing. These are sample form terms, not universal deadlines.

US Assure’s application tip sheet says renewal is not automatic for its program and describes underwriting review for an unfinished project. That is a carrier-program reminder, not a rule for every insurer. An extension may require approval and should be confirmed before the scheduled expiration.

Check how your policy treats substantial completion, testing, partial occupancy, purchaser acceptance, and delayed handover. Arrange suitable permanent property coverage before the builders risk form ends, and obtain any extension or changed cessation term in writing.
