# Do I Need Insurance for DoorDash in Prince Edward Island?

Yes. Keep valid auto insurance and obtain the insurer’s written answer about paid delivery. PEI’s ordinary liability minimum is $200,000, but delivery permission, car-damage protection and WCB status need separate review. Passenger-TNC figures do not establish DoorDash delivery cover.

Research checked: 2026-10-27. Amounts are USD in the U.S. and CAD in Canada.

## Before Your First Delivery in Prince Edward Island

### Keep Your Own Insurance and Disclose Delivery

Yes. A DoorDash courier using a car in Prince Edward Island needs valid automobile insurance and an insurer’s answer about paid delivery use. Insurance Act section 234 sets the ordinary motor-vehicle liability minimum at $200,000, exclusive of interest and costs. This is a legal floor, not a recommendation that the amount will meet your needs or a promise that a particular policy permits deliveries. Highway Traffic Act sections 314–315 connect registration and proof to an insured vehicle; the Act also prohibits specified uninsured operation. DoorDash’s Canadian contract independently requires the courier to maintain required insurance. Describe the vehicle, all drivers, delivery apps, operating territory and expected use before starting. Obtain the actual policy and any required endorsement with its effective date. An uploaded insurance card, a successful app sign-up and a future quote do not resolve all those questions.

Evidence: Verified. Scope: CA-PE DoorDash; ordinary owned car unless another vehicle is expressly discussed. Conditional source analysis, not issued insurance or an individual WCB decision. Checked 2026-10-27.

### Get the Delivery-use Answer in Writing

Insurance Act section 220’s first statutory condition requires the named insured to promptly notify the insurer or local agent in writing of a known change in risk material to the contract. Section 219 separately addresses application misrepresentation, breach and fraud, subject to its actual wording. Tell the insurer that you carry paid food or grocery orders; a description of commuting or occasional business errands may not answer that question. Keep your application, disclosure, insurer’s reply and endorsement together, and update the insurer when the relevant use changes. This review does not decide that every change is legally material or every error defeats all protection. It identifies the contract issue that needs a documented answer. Ask which classification and wording apply to the described car, the permitted drivers and every delivery activity you actually undertake.

Evidence: Verified. Scope: CA-PE DoorDash; ordinary owned car unless another vehicle is expressly discussed. Conditional source analysis, not issued insurance or an individual WCB decision. Checked 2026-10-27.

### Read the Delivery Clause in Its Vehicle Context

The government currently links an SPF 1 owner’s form effective October 1, 2015, separately from its previous version. The sample’s general excluded uses address renting or leasing to another, specified hazardous loads and passenger-for-compensation activity. Commercial-delivery restrictions also appear in particular Section B and general other-automobile provisions. Those words describe the other automobile in those extensions; they should not be lifted out of context and reported as a blanket exclusion for every owned, described delivery car. Equally, this reading does not establish that your own application, rating classification or endorsements permit delivery. The published sample is not your issued contract. Ask the insurer to identify the relevant coverage, vehicle definition and endorsement, and give you its written delivery-use decision before you rely on any protection.

Evidence: Verified. Scope: CA-PE DoorDash; ordinary owned car unless another vehicle is expressly discussed. Conditional source analysis, not issued insurance or an individual WCB decision. Checked 2026-10-27.

### Passenger Ridesharing Rules Do Not Establish Delivery Cover

PEI’s ridesharing guidance describes taxi-like passenger transport arranged through apps. It discusses a driver obtaining suitable commercial automobile protection or a ridesharing business arranging a product for its active periods, and identifies the approved SPF 9 TNC form. That guidance should not be presented as proof of a DoorDash courier’s delivery policy, insurer, dollar limit or waiting period. Carrying a restaurant order and carrying a paying passenger are different activities. If you also drive passengers, disclose both activities and ask for the actual app-specific cover and personal-policy permission for each. The Canadian DoorDash summary must be read on its own terms. This guide does not apply an Uber or Lyft passenger limit to a delivery shift merely because both businesses use an app.

## DoorDash’s Canadian Contract and Insurance Summary

### Keep the Required Insurance and Renewal Evidence Current

The Canada-English agreement’s body is marked Last Updated July 17, 2026. Section 10.1 requires current insurance of the amounts and types legally required for the contracted services, at the courier’s expense, and treats failure to maintain satisfactory cover as a material breach and potential termination ground. It expressly leaves workers’ compensation to section 10.3. Section 10.2 requires certificates on request, updated certificates when cover is purchased, renewed or changed, and at least thirty days’ written notice before cancellation of a required policy. Compare this posted agreement with the version you accepted and later addenda. Keep the vehicle policy and app evidence current before the next shift. DoorDash’s Canadian auto summary independently says you must maintain primary auto insurance; an excess program does not replace it. The workplace provisions need their own provincial reading below.

Evidence: Company-reported. Scope: CA-PE; Canadian contract/summary only. Local law, insurer permission, policy wording and platform availability require separate review. Checked 2026-10-27.

### Canadian Excess Liability Has Important Conditions

DoorDash’s international section, expressly including Canada, describes excess third-party auto liability during the defined Delivery Service period. It says consideration of cover requires that the Dasher be liable for another party’s injury or damage during that period and that a claim first be made under the Dasher’s own auto policy with a coverage-denial letter received. Treat this as the company’s published account of its Canadian excess program, subject to the actual policy. It does not establish first-dollar coverage for every claim, a particular provincial or territorial dollar limit, protection while merely waiting for an order, or payment for all activities with the app open. Preserve the order and app-status records needed to identify the period. Ask DoorDash or the insurer for the current applicable wording, insurer, limit, covered vehicles and reporting procedure. An excess-policy description does not replace the primary insurance and disclosure duties in the contractor agreement.

Evidence: Company-reported. Scope: CA-PE; Canadian contract/summary only. Local law, insurer permission, policy wording and platform availability require separate review. Checked 2026-10-27.

### DoorDash’s Liability Summary Does Not Insure Repairs to Your Car

The Canadian section expressly says damage to the Dasher’s own vehicle is the driver’s responsibility and should be addressed with the auto insurer. Its third-party liability description concerns injuries and damage owed to someone else. The Canadian occupational accident program is also injury protection, not vehicle-damage insurance. If you cause a collision while delivering and your car needs repairs, neither summary establishes a platform-funded collision benefit for that car. Ask your insurer about permitted delivery use under the physical-damage protection available for delivery use in your province or territory. Also ask about the deductible, valuation and loss-of-use protection before relying on the car for income. A document showing substantial liability coverage may still leave you with an uninsured repair bill. This distinction applies even when an accident involves a customer’s order: the presence of goods in the car does not turn liability to other people into protection for your own vehicle.

Evidence: Company-reported. Scope: CA-PE; Canadian contract/summary only. Local law, insurer permission, policy wording and platform availability require separate review. Checked 2026-10-27.

### Report App-Related Incidents Promptly and Cooperate

Section 10.4 of the posted agreement asks for notice to DoorDash or its carrier of an occurrence, dispute, incident or accident while logged in, or immediately before or after logging in or out, within forty-eight hours where practicable. It also requires cooperation with the insurer’s investigation of the event and surrounding moments. This contractual notice sits alongside your own insurer’s reporting requirements. Report accurately and promptly rather than waiting to find out who is ultimately responsible. Keep the incident time, order identifier, accepted and completed status, other active apps, vehicle details, photographs and the correspondence you receive. Do not manufacture a denial letter or describe a delivery as personal use to fit a hoped-for policy. A support ticket establishes that you contacted support; it is not itself a coverage decision or a waiver of the applicable insurance conditions.

Evidence: Company-reported. Scope: CA-PE; Canadian contract/summary only. Local law, insurer permission, policy wording and platform availability require separate review. Checked 2026-10-27.

### Read the Canadian Workplace Provisions by Province

Section 10.3 says DoorDash maintains workers’ compensation insurance in Canada where, when and to the extent required by law. The Canada-specific section 24.1(b) expressly says DoorDash registers and pays premiums for contractors performing services in Manitoba, British Columbia or Saskatchewan and that those contractors are eligible to claim from the applicable provincial board. This is the company’s account of its arrangements, not a decision accepting a particular injury or resolving every statutory status question. For those provinces, ask how the registered coverage applies to your actual work. Elsewhere, do not infer either automatic enrolment or absence of a legal obligation from the three-province list. Use the local board’s rules and determination for your relationship and activity.

Evidence: Company-reported. Scope: CA-PE; Canadian contract/summary only. Local law, insurer permission, policy wording and platform availability require separate review. Checked 2026-10-27.

## Your Car, the Orders and Other Vehicles

### Direct Compensation Has Location and Insurer Conditions

Insurance Act section 254.3 applies when its vehicle-damage and insurer conditions are satisfied for an incident involving the use or operation of other automobiles in PEI. The damaged automobile’s insurer and at least one other involved automobile’s insurer must be licensed in PEI or have filed the required undertaking, subject to the provision’s modifications and exceptions. The government’s DCPD explanation describes recovery from your own insurer for the not-at-fault share; it is not universal car repair regardless of circumstances. Preserve the other vehicle’s insurer, policy number, dates and identity, plus the location and incident details. A single-car crash, an unidentified vehicle or a collision outside PEI should not simply be assumed to use this route. The actual legal and policy conditions determine which coverage responds.

### Check Collision, Comprehensive and the Fault Decision Separately

The SPF 1 sample distinguishes collision/upset from comprehensive and specified-perils cover, with different insured events, exclusions and deductibles. DCPD addresses its qualifying not-at-fault share; collision protection is a separate question for your at-fault car damage. PEI’s Fault Determination Regulations supply incident rules and provisions for ordinary law where an event is not described or information is insufficient. They also distinguish parking-lot movements and reversing. Save photographs of lanes, parking spaces, signs, positions and damage, and request the insurer’s applicable rule and reasons. This review does not interpret the diagrams or assign fault to an actual collision. DoorDash’s Canadian summary says your vehicle damage remains your responsibility. Confirm delivery permission, valuation, deductible and loss-of-use protection under your own issued cover rather than treating liability insurance as comprehensive protection for the car.

### Do Not Assume the Delivered Goods Are Insured

Section 254.3(13) excludes damage to contents carried for reward from that section’s direct-compensation application. The government’s DCPD FAQ expressly identifies the distinction, and the owner-form sample also excludes specified carried or custodial property from Section A liability. A damaged customer order, your car repairs and liability for another driver’s property are different losses even when they arise from one collision. Ask what policy, if any, addresses goods entrusted to you, business equipment and associated deductibles. Do not assume a phone or groceries are covered merely because an insured vehicle carries them. The Canadian DoorDash auto summary does not establish broad cargo protection for every PEI courier. Higher vehicle liability limits alone do not resolve the carried-goods question.

### Borrowed, Rented and Commercial Vehicles Need Their Own Review

A family member’s car or a replacement rental should not be treated as interchangeable with the described vehicle. The SPF 1 sample distinguishes temporary substitutes and other automobiles, and places commercial-delivery restrictions in particular other-car extensions. Check the owner’s policy, your own extensions, rental agreement, permission to deliver, drivers and liability for damage to the borrowed or rented vehicle. A replacement-car expense benefit does not establish delivery permission. Highway Traffic Act section 320 separately authorizes additional insurance requirements for prescribed commercial vehicles; this guide has not determined a specific courier vehicle’s commercial classification or applicable regulatory limit. DoorDash’s contract still requires the appropriate insurance. The checker therefore keeps this ordinary-owned-car analysis separate from rented, borrowed and commercial configurations and calls for their actual documents.

### Hit-and-run and Uninsured Protection Are Not the Same as Collision

The Uninsured and Unidentified Automobile Coverage Regulations distinguish bodily injury from property damage. Their property-damage promise refers to recovery from an identified owner or driver of an uninsured automobile; that is not an unrestricted promise to repair a car after every unidentified hit-and-run. The schedule has insured-person definitions, other-recovery and limit conditions, and excludes the first $250 of qualifying property damage. For an unidentified-vehicle bodily-injury or death claim, it also requires reporting to police or the appropriate authority within 24 hours or as soon as practicable, with written notice to the insurer within 30 days or as soon as practicable thereafter. Preserve those records promptly and ask which coverage and proof requirements apply. Check collision and any additional protection rather than assume mandatory uninsured cover removes every car-damage gap.

### Keep Cover Active Through Any Policy Change

The motor-policy statutory termination condition in section 220 provides fifteen days’ registered-mail notice or five days’ written notice personally delivered by the insurer, with the registered-mail period starting the day after the letter reaches the addressed post office. The exact contract and statutory application matter; other insurance classes have different conditions. Use the PEI contract and statutory wording for the actual notice. If your insurer changes, declines or terminates cover after reviewing delivery use, request the actual written reason, effective date and replacement terms. This guide does not decide the validity of a particular notice. Avoid a gap while changing insurers, and keep the app’s required documents current. DoorDash’s agreement’s courier notice obligations and the insurer’s statutory termination duties are separate matters.

## Injury Protection and Your WCB Status

### Your App Contract Does Not Settle WCB Status

WCB policies distinguish a worker under a contract of service from an independent operator working on their own account. POL 22 defines an independent operator as self-employed with no workers and requires WCB confirmation for personal-coverage eligibility. The Board weighs the contract, ability to serve multiple clients, control of hours, oversight, tools and chance of profit or loss. Its actual Independent Operator Checklist requests information about those factors; a blank form is not a decision about you. DoorDash’s contractor description does not replace the Board’s statutory assessment. If you are determined to be a worker of a hiring employer, POL 19 and POL 22 explain the employer-registration route and say the worker cannot be charged for that WCB coverage. Obtain the applicable status decision rather than choose the cheaper label yourself.

### Hiring One Worker Can Change Registration Obligations

POL 19 says an employer operating in PEI with one or more workers must have WCB coverage unless the industry is excluded. New employers must register before starting business operations; an independent operator who hires a worker is one of the listed triggers. Proprietors, partners and corporate owners or directors are not automatically included in the employer’s own registration and payroll, and may need the personal-coverage route for themselves. The General Regulations list specific exclusions, including taxi transportation and newspaper or publication carriers, with stated qualifications and routes for inclusion. Those descriptions should not be expanded into an exemption for all food delivery performed through an app. A courier operating with helpers should ask WCB to determine the actual business and worker positions. The personal-coverage application also flags separate employer registration when workers are employed.

## Personal Coverage, Earnings and Benefit Coordination

### Personal Coverage Starts After Approval and Payment

POL 22 permits eligible independent operators and specified business owners to apply for voluntary personal coverage. The application must contain the required information and full payment; WCB reviews eligibility and issues its decision. Coverage starts when the application is approved or on the requested date, whichever is later, with full payment required before approval. The actual 2026 application’s terms express the same approval/payment requirement. Submitting a form, selecting a start date or signing into the delivery app does not backdate protection to an earlier injury. If you operate more than one business, identify the operations for which you want cover rather than assume one application covers everything you do. Keep the written approval, insured operations, purchased amount, payment evidence and start/end dates with your records before you rely on the protection.

### The Purchased Earnings Amount Is Not a Guaranteed Benefit

POL 22 sets personal coverage between 20% and 100% of the annual maximum earnings amount. The actual 2026 application and renewal forms show $17,860 to $89,300 for that year, plus minimum fees of $50 for PEI residents and $100 for non-residents. These are a coverage-purchase range and minimum fees, not quoted premiums for your delivery business or guaranteed claim payments. The industry assessment rate and chosen coverage affect cost. The policy provides continuing annual renewal where no end date is selected, but requires renewal by February 28 of the applicable year to avoid cancellation. The currently posted 2026 forms themselves print a February 28, 2026 auto-renewal date. Obtain the proper year’s renewal instructions rather than apply that already-passed date to a new late 2026 application. Report status changes that affect eligibility.

### Budget Against Verified Net Earnings and Earning Capacity

POL 86 bases eligible temporary wage-loss benefits on 90% of net loss of earning capacity, subject to the accident year’s maximum and other conditions. For personal coverage, it states that average earnings use the lesser of the gross coverage amount purchased and verifiable net employment income at the time of the accident. POL 22 also requires proof of actual earnings and explains that purchasing more cover does not replace an actual earnings loss. Keep tax records and reliable income information, including the business expenses relevant to net employment income; app deposits alone may not answer the calculation. The Board then considers earning capacity after the injury, suitable work and applicable collateral benefits. Do not budget on 90% of gross order receipts or assume the purchased annual amount will automatically be paid. Ask WCB to explain the calculation for your records.

### A Work Injury Must Meet the Entitlement Conditions

POL 71 requires a claim that meets the worker, time-limit and covered-employment criteria before assessing whether an accident caused personal injury arising out of and in the course of employment. An app screen alone does not decide every injury’s connection to work. Keep contemporaneous order/activity details and medical and earnings records so the actual circumstances can be assessed. POL 86 says current temporary wage-loss benefits begin from the first day of loss of earning capacity beyond the accident date; its older waiting-period qualification concerns accidents before 2016. Use the PEI rule and relevant accident date when asking about benefit commencement. Accepted injury entitlement, actual loss of earning capacity and payment duration remain distinct decisions. DoorDash’s public occupational program is also not a substitute for WCB’s statutory decision.

### Read the Motor-collision Coordination Rule Before Assuming an Exclusion

The SPF 1 sample’s Section B exclusion refers to a person entitled to workers-compensation benefits. But PEI Workers Compensation Act section 11(5) supplies a specific motor-vehicle deeming rule: in the circumstances it describes involving a vehicle required to be registered, the worker is deemed not entitled to the Part’s benefits for the Insurance Act or an insurance contract in place on the accident date. Read that rule in its statutory context with sections 11 and 12(3), rather than assume the sample exclusion automatically defeats every work-related motor claim. The rule is also not a general cancellation of all WCB rights or an election made for you by this page. Ask the actual auto insurer and WCB to identify the applicable coordination provisions and your status before choosing a claim or settlement route.

### Check the Canadian Occupational Program and Its Actual Terms

DoorDash’s Canadian public occupational-accident summary describes a program with eligibility and geographic qualifications, rather than an issued motor policy or individual WCB status determination. Obtain the applicable certificate, benefit schedule, exclusions, activity period, claim procedure and coordination terms if you intend to rely on it. The separate occupational-accident FAQ that states it applies only to U.S. Dashers does not establish PEI benefits; its dollar amounts or waiting periods should not be transferred into a Canadian answer. No authenticated group policy was available for this review, so the guide does not promise a local benefit amount or guaranteed eligibility. Injury protection, auto liability and repair of your own car must each be checked. The Canadian auto summary expressly leaves your own-car damage to you.

## After a Collision: Claims, Elections and Records

### Report Promptly and Distinguish the Different Deadlines

Workers Compensation Act section 59 ordinarily requires the compensation claim within six months of the accident, or within six months of death for a fatal claim. POL 90 directs use of the Worker’s Report Form 6 and prompt reporting. It separately addresses the accident date for gradual disablement and occupational disease, including a specific extension discretion for occupational-disease claims; do not read that as a general extension promise for a late collision claim. Auto-policy notice, proof of loss and court-action periods are separate. The owner-form Section B wording, for example, states 30-day written notice and 90-day proof, each with its practicability qualification. Report to the actual insurers and DoorDash promptly, preserve copies and request the applicable forms. Completing one report does not establish that all statutory and contractual filing requirements are satisfied.

### A Third-party Claim Can Affect the WCB Election

Sections 11–12 and the current May 2026 POL 87 explain the choice between claiming WCB compensation and suing an eligible third party. The written election and notice to WCB are ordinarily required within six months of the accident, subject to WCB’s extension power. Making a claim against, or receiving settlement money from, the third party before electing can deem you to have chosen the lawsuit route; failure to make the required election can do the same. The initial compensation claim, third-party election and cross-jurisdiction election have different purposes and conditions. Do not treat an informal insurer settlement as harmless administration before checking the consequences. Ask WCB and an appropriate adviser about your position, and retain the written election. This guide does not make the election, settle the claim or determine entitlement for you.

### The Motor-vehicle Exception Does Not Remove Every Statutory Bar

POL 87 distinguishes the bar involving your own employer or co-worker from an action involving another covered employer or its worker. Its motor-vehicle exception concerns the latter situation; it should not be recast as unrestricted permission to sue every workplace party. If compensation is chosen, WCB is subrogated to the third-party claim, may control its pursuit and requires cooperation. If you choose to sue and recover less, any possible statutory supplementary compensation remains conditional; prior written WCB approval of a settlement is required by section 11(2.2). Duplicate recovery and the private occupational program’s coordination terms also need review. Do not sign releases or assume you can collect all benefits and separately keep the full tort settlement. The actual legal relationships, registered-vehicle rule and claim choices determine the outcome.

### Cross-border Work Has a Different Election and Coverage Question

Workers Compensation Act section 8 and POL 143 address potential entitlement in PEI and another jurisdiction. Section 8(1) ordinarily requires the separate interjurisdictional election within three months after the accident, or within three months after death for a fatal case, and expressly permits a longer period allowed by WCB. The policy describes the ordinary three-month accident period and a deemed choice not to claim PEI compensation if no election is made; read it with the Act’s fatal-case and extension qualifications. This is different from the third-party election and initial claim deadlines. POL 143 also excludes personal or optional coverage from the interjurisdictional agreement unless the specified coverage is in force in both the residence/usual-work jurisdiction and place of work. POL 19 separately addresses employer registration outside PEI. Before cross-border delivery, confirm territorial cover, registration and statutory eligibility rather than assume one arrangement settles all three.

## Disputes, Appeals and the Documents to Keep

### Internal WCB Review Requires a Timely Written Request

For an applicable WCB decision, section 56(1) requires a written reconsideration request by a person with a direct interest no later than 90 days from notification. POL 48 describes the current deadline as 90 days from the decision letter, so preserve both the letter and delivery record and file promptly rather than assume a later date. The policy distinguishes an actual written decision from ongoing adjudication and excludes specified matters from this route. The official IR 01 form asks for each disputed decision, the reason for disagreement, requested resolution and written supporting material; it also addresses representation signatures. Asking a staff member to explain the decision is useful but should not be assumed to preserve a filing deadline. WCB’s appeal guide describes the stages, and independent Worker Advisor or Employer Advisor assistance may be available.

### WCAT Has a Separate 30-day Appeal and Materials Process

After the reconsideration decision, section 56(6) ordinarily allows 30 days after the Board makes that decision to appeal to the Workers Compensation Appeal Tribunal. Section 56(6.1) permits an extension on application on terms the Tribunal considers appropriate; an extension is not automatic. The linked Appeal Regulations require a written notice with identity/claim details, the appealed decision date, grounds and requested relief, and specify five copies. They then provide a separate 30-day period after filing for the appellant’s materials and say filing does not itself stay the decision. Confirm current filing logistics with WCAT rather than substitute the internal IR 01 form for every stage. The initial claim deadline, internal 90-day review, external 30-day appeal and later materials deadline serve different purposes. Save proof that each required filing was actually made.

### Insurance Complaints Follow a Different Escalation Route

A dispute about delivery permission or an auto claim should begin with the insurer’s actual clause, evidence and written reasons. PEI’s complaint guidance recommends speaking to the agent or adjuster, escalating to a senior insurer representative and internal ombudsperson, and considering the relevant external ombudservice before approaching the Superintendent. Keep the policy, application, disclosure, correspondence and a clear description of the remedy you seek. The Superintendent expressly says it cannot take a direct role in settling a claim, direct a particular settlement action or provide legal advice. That limitation matters when deciding where to seek review. A WCB reconsideration request does not replace an auto-policy claim dispute, and an insurance complaint should not be assumed to pause any contractual or court limitation period.

### Use the Checker to Prepare the Right Questions

For an ordinary owned car delivering with DoorDash in PEI, the checker brings together the reviewed disclosure, Canadian platform-summary and car-damage questions in this article. It does not issue insurance, identify your current endorsement, decide WCB status or infer an unpublished local DoorDash fleet limit. Numeric delivery days and kilometres can help describe the actual use to an insurer, but this PEI review does not establish a universal day or kilometre allowance. The answer must be based on the applicable PEI documents. Borrowed, rented, commercial and other vehicle inputs need their own documents. Keep the current policy, written delivery permission, app agreement, relevant platform policy and any WCB approval together. Revisit those records when your vehicle, apps, business structure or coverage changes.

### Match the Source Date to the Contract and Incident

This review retained the full official May 29, 2026 consolidations of the Insurance, Highway Traffic and Workers Compensation Acts and checked their entries in the government’s October 1, 2026 Table of Public Acts. The table distinguishes effective and unproclaimed amendments and states its own reference-only status. A May consolidation date or an old form date is not, alone, proof that a document is obsolete; equally, a downloaded sample is not evidence of your issued coverage. The guide identifies the current official links and the specific clauses used, with an explicit partial-review flag for the scanned owner form’s unexamined operative pages. The table’s date is not represented as a guarantee about every later enactment. Policy wording, accident date, later amendments and individual facts remain important when obtaining the insurer’s or WCB’s actual decision.
