# Business Insurance in Oklahoma

## Insurance Regulator

**Oklahoma Insurance Department.** OID's Licensing Division oversees new and renewed producer, adjuster, and business-entity licenses. Its consumer assistance process takes insurance complaints and requests for help; the licensee lookup displays license status and expiration.[^1][^2][^3]

## Surplus-Lines Tax and Stamping Office

**Reported tax rate:** 6% of premium and fees, plus 0.175% SLAS transaction fee For Oklahoma-home-state placements, OID says the 6% surplus-lines tax base includes premium and fees; SLIP also bills a 0.175% SLAS transaction fee. Oklahoma law requires a policy notice that surplus-lines coverage has no guaranty-association protection, so ask your broker to itemize the tax and transaction fee.[^4][^5][^6]
