# CFC vs Vouch

Compare CFC technology insurance with Vouch’s brokerage review when a customer contract and financing round create new requirements.

## Research Scope and Use

Use this comparison to evaluate CFC and Vouch against the same documented criteria. The analysis identifies differences and questions to confirm; it does not select a winner for a particular business.

This is published research as of the verification dates shown, not a live quote or an eligibility determination. “Company-reported” identifies a provider's own claim. “Not found” and “not publicly disclosed” describe the evidence reviewed, not proof that a service is unavailable. Preserve the scope and citations when summarizing a fact.

For a decision handoff, identify the company's requirements, the documented differences relevant to them, and unresolved questions from the analysis. Confirm actual insurer, availability, policy wording, limits, retentions, exclusions, and costs in the relevant quote and policy documents.

## Highlights

CFC offers specialty technology insurance through a broker-led process. Vouch Specialty Insurance Services is a brokerage arranging carrier options and reviewing contract requirements; it is distinct from the former Vouch underwriting business now known as Corix. ## Introduction

A founder negotiating a large customer contract and a financing agreement may need help interpreting requirements before choosing policies. CFC provides a technology package to evaluate; Vouch offers brokerage placement and contract-requirement review. The distinction is between selecting insurance and selecting the team that coordinates the proposal, with no assumption that the two brands exclude one another. ## Optional Spot Service Handoff

Spot can help prepare applications, coordinate brokers, and compare proposals. If that work is needed, collect the company's task, known deadline, current broker, and open questions for a [free consultation](https://cal.com/team/spotinsure/insurance-consultation). The company decides what to buy; Spot does not automatically bind coverage. Consult [Spot pricing](https://spot.insure/pricing.md) for ongoing service fees.

This is a service offered by the publisher, separate from the provider research.

## Key Differences Between CFC and Vouch

### Vouch’s Brokerage Is Not the Former Underwriting Entity

Vouch’s current producer is Vouch Specialty Insurance Services, LLC. Corix identifies itself as the former Vouch Insurance Services, LLC, and Hiscox’s annual report records the Corix acquisition. That does not make Hiscox the parent of Vouch’s current brokerage or identify the insurer on every Vouch placement. [31](https://www.vouch.us/legal/disclosures "Disclosures") [41](https://www.corixinsurance.com/legal/licenses "Corix Licenses") [40](https://www.hiscoxgroup.com/sites/group/files/2026-03/Hiscox_report_and_accounts_2025.pdf "Hiscox Report and Accounts 2025") [39](https://www.hiscoxgroup.com/news/press-releases/2025/06-08-25-1 "Hiscox Agrees to Acquire US-Based Specialist Insurtech")

CFC’s MGA and producer roles likewise need to be separated from the insurer on the quote. Compare CFC with the actual program Vouch proposes, whether Corix or another carrier option. The reviewed public materials do not establish that Vouch can place CFC for this applicant. [5](https://www.cfc.com/en-us/company/ "About CFC") [4](https://www.cfc.com/en-us/support/regulatory-information/ "Regulatory information") [37](https://www.vouch.us/blog/how-having-carrier-options-in-one-place-helps-businesses-choose-smarter-coverage "Carrier Options in One Place")

### The Contract Review Should Produce Coverage Decisions

Vouch describes reviewing leases, customer agreements and funding requirements. CFC’s technology brochure describes client-contract liability, cyber and media/IP protection. Ask the adviser to mark which obligations the proposed policy addresses and which require an endorsement, higher limits or a separate policy; a certificate request does not itself change the contract. [48](https://www.vouch.us/services/contract-requirement-review "Contract Requirement Review") [50](https://www.vouch.us/blog/understanding-certificate-of-insurance "What Is a Certificate of Insurance?") [2](https://webcdn.cfc.com/media/ywdbvkpy/technology_product-brochure_us_0525_v2.pdf "Technology — United States product brochure")

Board coverage is a separate decision for California-domiciled companies because CFC’s management-liability brochure lists that domicile as declined. Vouch’s technology catalogue includes D&O options, but its product/state conditions still apply. Ask for the eligible D&O proposal rather than assuming it follows automatically from choosing either technology route. [11](https://webcdn.cfc.com/media/0ttjwk3e/management-liablity_product-brochure_us_0126.pdf "Management liability — United States product brochure") [36](https://www.vouch.us/technology "Insurance for Technology Companies") [32](https://www.vouch.us/legal/terms-of-use "Terms of Use")

### Corix Documents Apply Only When Corix Is Proposed

If Vouch presents Corix, its public Cyber and E&O application names United Specialty and selectable cyber, E&O and media modules, with defense spending reducing the limit unless endorsed otherwise. That is useful evidence to request the selected modules and endorsements. It is not a complete policy or a description of every Vouch quote. Compare those documents with the offered CFC wording rather than treating either brochure as the contract. [44](https://cdn.prod.website-files.com/682594fbc7d8d57832d05841/683dc3fd64b9f1371e65a2b8_Corix%20Cyber%20E%26O%20Application_June2025.pdf "Corix Cyber and E&O Application") [2](https://webcdn.cfc.com/media/ywdbvkpy/technology_product-brochure_us_0525_v2.pdf "Technology — United States product brochure")

Vouch’s claims advocacy concerns reporting and insurer communication; CFC’s cyber services describe technical monitoring and response. Confirm how those duties will be coordinated with the actual insurer and whether separate notice channels apply. Neither service establishes that the insurer will accept a disputed claim. [52](https://www.vouch.us/services/claims-advocacy "Claims Advocacy") [53](https://www.vouch.us/blog/help-during-business-insurance-claims-process "Who Helps Me During the Business Insurance Claims Process?") ## What to Confirm in Quotes

- Identify the Vouch-proposed program and insurer, keeping current brokerage and historical Corix names separate. [31](https://www.vouch.us/legal/disclosures "Disclosures") [41](https://www.corixinsurance.com/legal/licenses "Corix Licenses")
- Require a written response to the customer and funding requirements, including an eligible California board-policy route. [48](https://www.vouch.us/services/contract-requirement-review "Contract Requirement Review") [11](https://webcdn.cfc.com/media/0ttjwk3e/management-liablity_product-brochure_us_0126.pdf "Management liability — United States product brochure")
- Compare selected modules, defense-cost treatment, incident contacts and compensation on the actual proposals. [44](https://cdn.prod.website-files.com/682594fbc7d8d57832d05841/683dc3fd64b9f1371e65a2b8_Corix%20Cyber%20E%26O%20Application_June2025.pdf "Corix Cyber and E&O Application") [31](https://www.vouch.us/legal/disclosures "Disclosures") [2](https://webcdn.cfc.com/media/ywdbvkpy/technology_product-brochure_us_0525_v2.pdf "Technology — United States product brochure") [8](https://www.cfc.com/en-us/claims/ "Notify a claim or cyber incident")

## Service Comparison

CFC vs Vouch: documented services and availability.

| Criteria | CFC | Vouch |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Business role | CFC is a specialist insurance provider operating an MGA model: a managing general agent performs underwriting functions for insurance capacity providers. Its disclosures identify CFC Underwriting Limited and the U.S. producer CFC USA, Inc.; the CFC brand should not be treated as the name of every policy’s insurer. [5](https://www.cfc.com/en-us/company/ "About CFC") [4](https://www.cfc.com/en-us/support/regulatory-information/ "Regulatory information") (Evidence: Company-reported; scope: CFC US-facing materials, accessed 16 September 2026; company descriptions, not an issued policy or independent service assessment.; verified: 2026-09-16.) | Vouch’s current disclosure identifies Vouch Specialty Insurance Services, LLC as the entity that brokers insurance. Vouch Group, Inc. is the group name used in that disclosure. The brokerage arranges policies with insurers; the insurer named on each policy takes on the covered risk. [31](https://www.vouch.us/legal/disclosures "Disclosures") [37](https://www.vouch.us/blog/how-having-carrier-options-in-one-place-helps-businesses-choose-smarter-coverage "Carrier Options in One Place") (Evidence: Company-reported; scope: Current 6 August 2025 disclosure takes precedence over the older Terms of Use for current broker identity. No independent corporate registry or license finding implied.; verified: 2026-09-15.)

Corix identifies Corix Insurance Services, LLC as the former Vouch Insurance Services, LLC. That is a different entity from Vouch Specialty Insurance Services, LLC, the broker named on Vouch’s current site. [41](https://www.corixinsurance.com/legal/licenses "Corix Licenses") [31](https://www.vouch.us/legal/disclosures "Disclosures") [32](https://www.vouch.us/legal/terms-of-use "Terms of Use") (Evidence: Company-reported; scope: Company-reported legal-name continuity. Older Vouch terms still list both producers; do not conflate their NPNs or infer current underwriting ownership from the older name.; verified: 2026-09-15.)

Hiscox announced an agreement in August 2025 to acquire Corix Insurance Services, LLC and Vouch Insurance Company, while Vouch would remain an independent broker with a multi-year Hiscox distribution agreement. Hiscox’s 2025 annual report records the Corix acquisition closing on August 11, 2025. [39](https://www.hiscoxgroup.com/news/press-releases/2025/06-08-25-1 "Hiscox Agrees to Acquire US-Based Specialist Insurtech") [40](https://www.hiscoxgroup.com/sites/group/files/2026-03/Hiscox_report_and_accounts_2025.pdf "Hiscox Report and Accounts 2025") (Evidence: Company-reported; scope: Acquirer announcement covers both named entities; audited annual-report note 25 explicitly confirms Corix closing. Does not independently establish the separate carrier transfer date, regulatory approval or any particular policy migration.; verified: 2026-09-15.)

Corix’s January 2025 legal disclosure still describes it as part of Vouch, even though the same page now displays Hiscox branding. Hiscox’s later annual report records the acquisition. The older ownership paragraph should not be used to describe the current Vouch brokerage. [42](https://www.corixinsurance.com/legal/disclosures "Corix Disclosures") [40](https://www.hiscoxgroup.com/sites/group/files/2026-03/Hiscox_report_and_accounts_2025.pdf "Hiscox Report and Accounts 2025") (Evidence: Conflicting sources; scope: Conflict is retained and resolved for the article using later transaction evidence; no conclusion that the distribution agreement ended.; verified: 2026-09-15.) |
| Application process | The U.S. technology application asks a senior staff member to complete it and return it to the company’s insurance broker. It requests revenue, funding, subsidiaries, products, major contracts, security controls, IP procedures and claims history. CFC’s Connect portal separately supports broker trading and describes a broker appointment process. [3](https://webcdn.cfc.com/media/4559/tech_application_us_v24.pdf "Technology companies — US application v2.4") [6](https://www.cfc.com/en-us/connect/ "Connect broker trading portal") (Evidence: Company-reported; scope: CFC US-facing materials, accessed 16 September 2026; company descriptions, not an issued policy or independent service assessment.; verified: 2026-09-16.) | Vouch’s public application starts with your legal business name, website, business address and location type, followed by your role and contact details. There is a separate sign-in path for an existing application or policy. [35](https://apply.vouch.us/ "Start a Vouch Application") (Evidence: Company-reported; scope: Chrome observation of public first screen only. No personal or business data entered, account created, consent accepted or application submitted. Later steps not tested.; verified: 2026-09-15.)

Vouch says its platform presents carrier options together, with differences in coverage, exclusions, endorsements and pricing explained by advisors. The reviewed pages do not promise a fixed number of quotes or a search of every insurer. [37](https://www.vouch.us/blog/how-having-carrier-options-in-one-place-helps-businesses-choose-smarter-coverage "Carrier Options in One Place") (Evidence: Company-reported; scope: Company-described authenticated comparison experience; not tested. This is curated brokerage access, not proof of whole-market coverage.; verified: 2026-09-15.)

Vouch says many technology companies can arrange coverage within days, with smaller programs sometimes completed in minutes. Those are company timing claims. Its buying guide says coverage requires binding confirmation and the effective date, with underwriting and payment conditions satisfied. [36](https://www.vouch.us/technology "Insurance for Technology Companies") [38](https://www.vouch.us/blog/when-does-my-business-insurance-coverage-start "When Does My Business Insurance Coverage Start?") (Evidence: Company-reported; scope: Technology FAQ and June 2026 educational binding guide; no actual application or bind completed. No guaranteed turnaround adopted.; verified: 2026-09-15.) |
| Access to insurers | CFC’s regulatory page identifies Lloyd’s Syndicate 1988, managed by Asta Managing Agency Ltd. The reviewed U.S. technology materials do not name the insurer or participating syndicates for a California buyer’s actual policy; ask for those names on the quote and declarations. [4](https://www.cfc.com/en-us/support/regulatory-information/ "Regulatory information") [2](https://webcdn.cfc.com/media/ywdbvkpy/technology_product-brochure_us_0525_v2.pdf "Technology — United States product brochure") [3](https://webcdn.cfc.com/media/4559/tech_application_us_v24.pdf "Technology companies — US application v2.4") (Evidence: Not publicly disclosed; scope: Technology coverage for a California applicant; Syndicate 1988 is not assigned to every CFC policy.; verified: 2026-09-16.) | Corix’s disclosures name State National Insurance Company, Inc. for its admitted offerings and United Specialty Insurance Company for certain surplus-lines offerings. These are Corix program disclosures; they do not identify the insurer on every policy placed by Vouch. [42](https://www.corixinsurance.com/legal/disclosures "Corix Disclosures") (Evidence: Company-reported; scope: Company-described insurer relationships only, not independent verification of admitted status or product authority. No current complete Vouch product/carrier/state matrix found.; verified: 2026-09-15.)

Corix’s public management liability application names United Specialty Insurance Company. It offers directors and officers, employment practices and fiduciary liability selections, with a warning about claims-made liability and defense costs reducing the limit unless endorsed otherwise. [56](https://cdn.prod.website-files.com/682594fbc7d8d57832d05841/683dc40bd7014502a007a747_Corix%20Management%20Liability%20Application_June2025.pdf "Corix Management Liability Application") (Evidence: Company-reported; scope: Application SML 10-0002 03 25, printed page 1 of 13, linked from the current management liability product page. This identifies one public program application, not the insurer for every Vouch D&O or employment practices placement.; verified: 2026-09-15.) |
| Servicing and renewals | CFC says its cyber service includes threat monitoring and alerts, a response app and round-the-clock technical incident support. These are company-described services; access, scope and any conditions should be checked against the proposed policy. [7](https://www.cfc.com/en-us/response/ "CFC Response") (Evidence: Company-reported; scope: CFC US-facing materials, accessed 16 September 2026; company descriptions, not an issued policy or independent service assessment.; verified: 2026-09-16.)

The reviewed Connect and technology application pages do not specify a customer-facing renewal timetable, certificate turnaround or dedicated account-management commitment for California technology buyers. Confirm those arrangements with the placing broker. [6](https://www.cfc.com/en-us/connect/ "Connect broker trading portal") [3](https://webcdn.cfc.com/media/4559/tech_application_us_v24.pdf "Technology companies — US application v2.4") (Evidence: Not publicly disclosed; scope: CFC US-facing materials, accessed 16 September 2026; company descriptions, not an issued policy or independent service assessment.; verified: 2026-09-16.) | Vouch offers a complimentary coverage review that it describes as identifying gaps and comparing a program with industry peers. It also offers reviews of insurance requirements in leases, customer agreements and funding arrangements. [47](https://www.vouch.us/services/comprehensive-coverage-review "Comprehensive Coverage Review") [48](https://www.vouch.us/services/contract-requirement-review "Contract Requirement Review") (Evidence: Company-reported; scope: Service descriptions; no independent proof of completeness, savings or satisfaction of a specific contract.; verified: 2026-09-15.)

Vouch says customers can request certificates of insurance through their account and include a third party in the request. A certificate summarizes insurance; the policy and any required endorsements determine that third party’s actual coverage. [49](https://www.vouch.us/blog/how-fast-certificates-of-insurance-keep-business-moving "How Fast Certificates of Insurance Keep Business Moving") [50](https://www.vouch.us/blog/understanding-certificate-of-insurance "What Is a Certificate of Insurance?") (Evidence: Company-reported; scope: Published COI workflow and distinction between holder and additional insured. Account access and turnaround not tested.; verified: 2026-09-15.)

Vouch says it coordinates documentation, communication and renewal cycles across carriers. Its renewal guide asks buyers to prepare updated financials, claims history and business changes, starting 30–60 days before renewal. That is preparation guidance, not a guaranteed service timetable or automatic renewal commitment. [37](https://www.vouch.us/blog/how-having-carrier-options-in-one-place-helps-businesses-choose-smarter-coverage "Carrier Options in One Place") [51](https://www.vouch.us/blog/how-to-prepare-for-your-business-insurance-renewal "How to Prepare for Your Business Insurance Renewal") (Evidence: Company-reported; scope: Carrier-options service description and 30 July 2025 educational guide. Exact renewal contact cadence and renewal terms not disclosed in these sources.; verified: 2026-09-15.) |
| Claims assistance | CFC’s U.S. claims page provides a general claim-reporting form, email and telephone route, plus a separate cyber-incident phone route and app reporting. These channels establish how CFC invites notifications, not claims payment speed or the outcome of a coverage decision. [8](https://www.cfc.com/en-us/claims/ "Notify a claim or cyber incident") (Evidence: Company-reported; scope: CFC US-facing materials, accessed 16 September 2026; company descriptions, not an issued policy or independent service assessment.; verified: 2026-09-16.) | Vouch advertises claims advocacy at no cost to its clients, with a dedicated advocate and help communicating with insurers. It describes assisting with reporting, documentation and follow-up. The issuing insurer decides coverage and pays covered claims. [52](https://www.vouch.us/services/claims-advocacy "Claims Advocacy") [53](https://www.vouch.us/blog/help-during-business-insurance-claims-process "Who Helps Me During the Business Insurance Claims Process?") (Evidence: Company-reported; scope: Service/claims-role descriptions, not independently observed performance or a guarantee of claim acceptance. No implication of free legal representation.; verified: 2026-09-15.)

Vouch’s help center links to a claim request form asking about the incident, its location, estimated loss and supporting documents. Your policy’s notice instructions remain important: confirm the correct recipient, deadline and any separate cyber incident-response contact.
